Emily Paul grew up on a lake in Minnesota. Every winter, the surface froze in layers. Thick layers that eventually whole communities would crop up on top of. Ice houses. Tire worn lanes. Small neighborhoods on the ice. A whole world built on that frozen surface.
But underneath the frozen layers, the lake was still there. Hidden from sight, it remained intact. The fish and algae thriving beneath the frozen surface.
It’s this image of the frozen lake, and what waits beneath it, that anchors Emily’s signature keynote, Bigger Than This. In it, she guides audiences through the invisible freeze that limits access to their own joy, genius, and vision, and introduces the whole-body wisdom that creates the conditions for thaw. What she witnesses, again and again, in the visionaries and leaders she works with is a frozen layer built from patterns and stories locked into the body long ago, now frozen in time. And underneath that frozen layer lies waiting all that makes them who they actually are.
Her approach draws from Daoist Alchemy, having studied through a lineage spanning eighty-eight generations, and over a decade of practicing acupuncture and Oriental medicine — working directly with the physical body, where these patterns actually live.
